Smoothies: 3 Delicious Ways

Fruits are a great way to curb sweet cravings. They are healthy and delicious and keep me full for a long time. I love to eat fruits just as they are but I also like to get creative with them. Today I’m going to share my 3 favorite ways to eat fruits.

1. Liquid Gold

healthy-smoothies-art_0First is the typical fruit smoothie. Simply combine your favorite fruits, add your liquid of choice, sweetener of choice, veggies if you would like, then blend. Find my favorite fruit smoothies here.

2. Smoothie Bowl

superfood-smoothie-bowlThis is almost like your typical fruit smoothie but add a lot less liquid than you normally would because you’re going to eat this in a bowl with a spoon 🙂 Once I’m done blending, I pour it into a bowl and top with my fave toppings. I prefer coconut flakes, cacao nibs, goji berries, pomegranate, chia seeds, raisins, and sometimes I drizzle with my favorite nut butter ( I will share my favorite nut butters in a later post).

3. Nice Cream

0m9a5342I absolutely love this snack for summer. It is so delicious and absolutely guilt free. I throw frozen bananas and juicy pitted date into a blender and blend with just a splash of liquid. Remember you want this the texture of soft serve so the less liquid, the better. If your dates are dried and hard, simply soak them in warm water till they soften up and then use for this recipe. Once you have this base made, the world is your oyster…you can add anything you choose to make different flavors: blueberries, strawberries, peanut butter, chocolate spread, grapes, nuts, etc! the possibilities are endless!
