My Happy Place
On 05/05/2016, I celebrated the 7th anniversary of my 21st birthday (I don’t believe in anything above 21 #forever21). On 05/01/2016, I celebrated 3 years of health and fitness. And I have never been happier!
Growing up, I had very lofty goals and aspirations; and I was on the fast-track to achieving all those goals. A few years ago, I decided I wasn’t growing fast enough and decided to focus all my energy on getting to the top. In so doing, I forgot to live! I based my happiness on those goals, and as long as I hadn’t achieved those goals, no matter the type of progress I made, I was not happy!
I approached my health and fitness journey in the same way, no matter how much progress I made, I was not satisfied until I reached my goal weight, goal body fat percentage, goal diet plan, and goal physique.
On my 27th birthday, I was at a pretty low place, but shortly after that something happened ( I’m not quite sure what it was, but I am so grateful for it). But I decided I was being extremely stupid! I decided: In between goals is a thing called life that has to be lived! So I decided to live life, and i have never been happier!
No I have not achieved all my goals. But I’m telling you, I’m feeling pretty invincible right now. I feel like I can climb Everest right now…lol. I feel like I can achieve anything, and I can be anything, with the help of God of course. I suddenly feel it’s not too late for goal x, and goal y is not impossible either…I CAN DO IT ALL THROUGH CHRIST WHO STRENGTHENS ME AND I AM GOING TO BE HAPPY WHILE DOING IT! I have stopped focusing on the goals of yesteryears like body fat percentage, weight, lean muscle, the perfect diet, etc. I have no idea what my stats are right now. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying these are bad goals to have. Just don’t let them consume you. And for me, they are just not a priority right now.
Every morning I wake up early to workout or every time I put a healthy meal into my body, it’s not because I hate my body and I’m trying to change it. It’s because I love me, and I’m just treating me right. I’m going to echo the words of @livnaturallylove and urge all of you to #liveinlovewithyou.
It’s great to have #goals. But don’t forget to enjoy the journey.
I love this outfit…very functional and comfortable. The top is really really old from forever 21. The shoes are really old too. Find shorts info down below.
